  • When and where is the race?

    The next Sandyford 5K will take place in Sandyford on Thursday 9th May, 2024 at 7:30pm.

  • What roads will be closed prior to and during the event?

    The Start Time of the Race is 7:00 p.m. It is envisaged that the roads will be closed at 6:45 p.m. and will remain closed until after the completion of the race at 8:30 p.m. The Roads affected are as follows:

     

    1. Blackthorn Road (Partial)
    2. Blackthorn Avenue (Partial)
    3. Blackthorn Drive (Partial)
    4. Carmanhall Road (from Dunnes Car Park to Blackthorn Road)
    5. Three Rock Road
    6. Corrig Road
    7. Raven’s Rock Road

     

    A Traffic Management Plan will be in place and all diversion routes will be clearly sign-posted. Emergency Access can be provided, if required, during the period of the road closures.

  • Where can I collect my Race Number and leave my bag?

    Participants will be able to collect their race number and t-shirt from two venues.

    Tuesday, May 7th: 11am-2pm
    Wednesday, May 8th: 11am-2pm

    Venue: Race HQ
    Dynamic Space Events, 60 Holly Ave, Stillorgan, Dublin, A94 X4P0

    When:
    Thursday, May 9th: 11am-2pm
    Thursday, May 9th: 5pm-7pm

    You will also be able to avail of our Bag Drop service from 5.00pm on Thursday. Clear bags will be provided and belongings are left at owners risk.

    We’ll also be accepting a limited number of late entries at Race HQ.

  • How much is it to enter?

    Adult €25 / Child €5 / Team of 4 €95

    A 6.5% processing fee will be applied at checkout.

     

    Athletics Ireland Recreational One Day Licence (ODL)
    The Board of Athletics Ireland is establishing the requirement for all non-AAI members participating in permitted Athletics Ireland recreational events to purchase a €2 one day licence (ODL). All revenue generated from this initiative will directly support the delivery of their high-performance programme.

  • What's included in the race pack?

    Everyone who enters will receive a Sandyford 5k Technical Race T-shirt from our Technical Kit sponsor Joma and a commemorative medal.

  • Where can I park?

    FREE parking is available from 5:30pm on May 9th in the Stillorgan and Sandyford Green Luas Car Parks.

  • Who is organising the event?

    Dundrum South Dublin Athletics Club (Ireland’s largest athletics club), are the hosts of the Sandyford 5k event. Our club is also the organiser of the Vhi Women’s Mini Marathon each year.

  • Where does the money go?

    The Sandyford 5k is organised by Dundrum South Dublin AC, one of the biggest athletics clubs in the country.

    The club is famed for producing many of our country’s greatest athletes (for more information click here) while catering for huge numbers of all ages and abilities across South Dublin.
